Choreography by Fanchon Shur
Music by Bonia Shur
A dance celebration of Chanukah called “Revolt in Modein”. Bonia Shur received an Emmy award for the music, I choreographed teenagers in spiritual enactments of the story and the customs in ancient Israel: the reverence emanating from light, the torch runner who takes the flame in a relay from Jerusalem to every small village in the land, the children’s games in Eastern Europe during the exile, and the majesty of humans who, outnumbered and unarmed, eventually repelled the great Greek Empire.
